Finally... Twilight
Saturday, November 29, 2008 / 10:21 PM
Finally... I've seen and met Edward Cullen. :)
THE CULLENS
BELLA AND THE CULLENS
THE CULLENSI'd love to write more about my favorite fiction novel that was recently adapted into a movie. I just have so much to say. But I know that if I linger a little bit longer in my laptop, I'd have a hard time waking up tomorrow. It's been five days now since my bazaar at the World Trade Center started. That is equivalent to five sleepless nights. Because I can't write more, I just want to post and share these wonderful photos of the Cullens before the Twilight craze is over. :)

Breakfast at UCC
Thursday, November 27, 2008 / 8:30 AM
Mornings are all about delicious breakfasts, freshly-squeezed juices, and freshly-brewed coffee. For someone who loves sleeping in on weekends, breakfast is one of the few reasons I'd willingly wake up early and face the day. And so I woke up on a bright and sunny morning last Saturday and drove to Connecticut Street. I had a lovely breakfast at UCC Vienna Cafe with an old friend, Krystle. :)
WAFFLES WITH FRANKFURTERS
SAB & KRYSTLEKrystle & I were both born on the 30th of July in the year of 1983. We've been classmates since kindergarten. But somehow, we've lost touched over the years. The last time I saw Krystle was about 8 years ago when we graduated in ICA. We haven't seen nor talked to each other since then. But thanks to the power of technology, we stumbled upon each other again through Multiply and had a lovely breakfast at my favorite cafe. :)* * * * *

ANNABEL LEEGOURMET AND THE FINEST CHEESECAKESLast Saturday, B took me out for a late dinner and movie date. In the cozy interior of Annabel Lee, B sat close beside me as I ate my late dinner. B already had dinner with a client earlier that night. And so... He was just nibbling on pretzels while watching me eat. I ordered one of my favorite comfort food, Pasta Vongole. Pasta cooked with clams and olive oil. Either it was really so delicious or I was really very hungry. I absolutely loved it. Too bad the serving was small. I have yet to go back and try Annabel Lee's cheesecakes.

To My Family in Canada
Thursday, November 20, 2008 / 6:55 PM
Last week, I finally had some time to shop for Christmas gifts that I'll be sending to my family in Canada. I've always loved wrapping gifts in fancy papers and tying them with a pretty ribbon. But coz my brother already warned me about the minimal space in his luggage, I knew that I have to be very practical. I did not wrap the gifts anymore but I attached a personally designed gift tag in each of them. :)
MOMMYA sexy black dress :)
MELSomething knitted to keep my sis warm. :)
KIMIA fur coat to go with her suede baby boots. :)
Now that the holidays are fast-approaching, I miss them all the more. This is the first Christmas that I won't be spending with my dearest family. It has been 6 months now since my family moved to Canada. I'm slowly getting used to my life here without them. But there are days when I just miss Dad and Mom so much that I cry. If only I can wrap my heart and send it to my dearest family whom I love so much.

ENGAGEMENT
I remember waking up early in the morning to have my hair and make-up done.I remember walking backwards down the stairs of my dad's house.I remember the way B looked at me.I remember the corsage B pinned on my gown.I remember the large bouquet of roses.I remember the beautifully wrapped gowns and dresses.I remember the expensive jewelries and precious stones in velvet boxes. But most of all...I remember the wonderful moment we exchanged rings. The look in our eyes... A silent promise of love and loyalty.B and I got engaged on November 19, 2005. Today, it has been 3 years since our Engagement Day. :)Labels: Brian and Sab, engagements, reflections

Steak & Potato
Tuesday, November 18, 2008 / 8:12 PM
What is wifey having for lunch today?
STEAK & POTATOIt doesn't look like leftover food from last night, does it? B neatly cut the slab of ribeye steak so that it still looked decent and delicious for wifey the next day. It was the kind of steak that is perfectly juicy without gravy. I also boiled a medium-sized potato as siding. :)

Penang Hill
Sunday, November 16, 2008 / 1:20 AM
Last Saturday, B and I had a Malaysian dinner at Penang Hill.
I was craving for roti and B was craving for curry. :)
MANGO LASSHI
I always love to have fruit shakes with my dinner.
Craving for something sweet, I ordered mango yougurt shake. :)
ROTI CANAIRoti Canai is a very popular Malaysian food.
It is a circular piece of flat bread served with curry.
This is one of my must-orders and I absolutely love it! :)
LAMB KARIThe lamb was tender and the curry was mild.
Just the way I like it. :)

Sweet Saturday
Saturday, November 15, 2008 / 3:08 AM
It has been a long time since B took me out for dinner on a Saturday night. B would normally hit the sack when he comes home from work, tired and exhausted. But on these rare occasions, B actually came home early and asked his wife out on a dinner date. It was a short ride to Greenhills and we had dinner at Promenade. After dinner, B and I had some time to talk and catch up on each other. Sometimes, we barely have deep conversations anymore. What with B working long hours and Sophie driving me crazy day after day. For one night, it just feels so good to open up and share our feelings to each other once more like how we used to be. The evening only got better when B asked me if I wanted to have a massage. Then B and I headed to Cinese Foot Spa where I took off my high-heels and B kicked off his shoes. In the cozy dim-lit room, we relaxed ourselves and enjoyed a very soothing foot and body massage. :)

Steak & Prawns
Tuesday, November 11, 2008 / 8:37 PM
SALT & PEPPER PRAWNSI've always love how steak and prawns compliment each other. So when I invited Ahia and his fiancee, Alanna to come over for lunch at our humble home last Sunday, I already knew what I was going to serve... steak and prawns. Inside my kitchen, I prepared Salt and Pepper Prawns, Grilled Beef Tenderloin, and Cream of Mushroom Soup. I was all sweaty in the kitchen and I had to quickly change before Ahia and Alanna arrive so I was only able to take a photo of the prawns. I wanted to take some more food shots but the serving plates were empty before I knew it. Seems like everyone enjoyed lunch! When our tummies were full, we all moved to the living room to play a game of Monopoly. :)

Quantum of Solace

QUANTUM OF SOLACE
After watching this James Bond movie, B said something about actors and roles. To the rest of the world, Daniel Craig will forever be James Bond and only James Bond. Coz apparently, James Bond will always be more popular than Daniel Craig. Likewise, Christopher Reeve will always be remembered only as Superman. And nobody else. I can't help but wonder... Is it an honor to play such big movie roles or is it a limitation to one's acting career?

Clouds in My Head

When our life revolves around one person, do we really lose ourselves?
Maybe I've lost myself... But what other way is there to live?
What is happiness? Is it fulfillment or contentment?
I'm blessed... But why can't I ever learn to be contented?

Curry Cup
Thursday, November 6, 2008 / 2:46 AM
aB brought home a handful of Nissin Cup Noodles from Japan.
I'd say Nissin makes the best cup noodles in the whole world. :)
CUP NOODLESI've always loved the seafood flavored Cup Noodle.
But this is the first time I tried the seafood curry flavor.
There is something about curry that stirs up my appetite. :)
SEAFOOD CURRYI loved the little ball of eggs and tiny strips of crabmeat and squid.
The noodle was crisp and the curry seafood flavor was so good.
Who would have known that I was only eating noodles from a cup? :)

The Sizzling Pepper Steak
Tuesday, November 4, 2008 / 7:54 AM
Left with not much choices in Promenade...
B and I decided to give Sizzling Pepper Steak another shot.
PEPPERED CHICKEN STEAKI ordered boneless chicken fillet rubbed with roasted pepper.
I liked the taste of the peppered chicken with hot gravy.
But some portions of the chicken weren't thoroughly cooked. :(
RIBEYE STEAKB ordered prime ribeye steak topped with an egg.
The steak was soft and tender but there was something strange with its taste.
B claimed to have enjoyed the sunny-side up more. :(
Maybe some restaurant deserve second chances.
But after giving Sizzling Pepper Steak another chance...
B and I realized that it really doesn't come close to Pepper Lunch.

Tony & Jackey
Sunday, November 2, 2008 / 2:40 AM
While B was in Tokyo, I was left at home missing him.
To cheer myself up, I decided I have to do something.
TONY & JACKEYI got the phone and booked an appointment with my Korean stylist at Tony & Jackey. I decided that it's time I needed a new 'do. Besides, I wanted to do away with the old 'do and surprise B with sexy new curls. I was all excited to get my curls when Rex, the Korean stylist, told me that he can't curl my hair coz I had a hair relax in the last year. I pleaded but Rex said the perm chemicals won't work in my hair no matter how I force it. Not wanting to leave the salon without feeling new and vogue, I checked the other salon services. Then I decided that if I can't have my curls, I'll just have a new bobbed and high-layered do plus hair colouring. From the Loreal colour chart, I chose number 5 which is chestnut brown. That ought to give me a new look. After Rex cut, styled and coloured my hair, I was face to face with the new me. I absolutely loved my new 'do. I felt like a different woman. And now I can't wait to surprise B with my new 'do. :)

Nights in Rodanthe
Saturday, November 1, 2008 / 1:00 AM
The Sunday before B left, we watched Nights in Rodanthe at the movies.
It is a film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestselling novel.

I made that to keep special things safe.
What keeps you safe?
Though I was warned about the bad reviews by critics...
I love Nicholas Sparks so much to miss this romantic movie.
But maybe some novels are meant to remain novels.
I thank B for watching this with me. :)
